After a few weeks of alterations to Szith to accommodate the recent influx of Duergar warriors, merchants, traders and the like along with much bickering between the two dark races things seem to be coming together slowly but surely. The Duergar are segregated and forced into the dock area where they quickly and proficiently carve new dwellings into the hard rock face making what resembles a temporary, fortified encampment which dominates the cavern and puts the Dockers rickety shacks to shame, standards and banners are raised near a small guard post that has been erected near the end of the pier and the she’bali Drow of the district being unorganised and generally chaotic in movement after years of avoiding anyone they deem superior tend to steer clear of the encampment in droves, unsure of what to make of the military discipline and highly structured organisation of the dark dwarves and the she’bali move much like a swarm of ants would in order to avoid a body of water.
There have been daily visits and inspections of the area by the nobles themselves, some officially and some covertly. While relations remain tense they seem to be forming a routine and at times when they speak of the coming battle a genuine rapport forms with the mutual thirst or you might call it blood lust that the two groups hold. Each of the four qu’ellaren use their own initiative when they send their spies and emissaries to monitor the progress and preparations of the guests as they each have their own plans and motives for the agreement but while they retain their suspicions as the weeks pass of the new additions as well as the old rivalries they are continually assured of little or no hostile intent and relations improve to a point at which plans can be made and actions begin to be taken.
After the fall of Raduguer and subsequent retreat of its inhabitants to Szith along with many of the advance scouts sent to help the Duergar in this new alliance almost all of the Drow outer patrols have fallen into disarray. In such times as this when strength needs to be mustered to face an overwhelming force all efforts become introverted and focus is directed inwards until such a time when clarity of purpose and a certain momentum has been reached. The Dark Alliance is now approaching the cusp of it’s first turn as those that seek to trespass deeper and deeper into the Underdark in search of riches are enveloped by darkness, their screams silently stolen in the last gargle of breath spluttered from a slit throat as they drown in their own blood.
No quarter is given, all are slain without mercy or reprise, any who had formed uneasy dealings with the Illythiri for purpose of mutual gain or sharing of information find themselves taken or fleeing for their lives as well. The eyes of the Lolthians burn red with a fury only matched and complimented by the dark, cold glare of the Duergar. All met without escort or blood ties to the two powerful races will be consumed in the fires of chaos or loose their soul in the darkness of despair.
\\ OOC’ly I’m putting a request to the council to be confirmed later for a general order to all Drow and Duergar. The order would see that all trespassers caught in the Underdark with or without a valid excuse, without escort or clear blood link to either race (and not half drow
) should be killed on the spot and left to rot (i.e. no OOC raise). The reason being part IC and part OOC to develop that listed above and also to dissuade further incursions from those of the mining persuasion. Things have got a little out of hand over the festive period, I’ve lost count on how many intruders have been found in the UD over the last 5 days and it’s not a good thing >
