WOOHOOO!! I Survived a DIRECT hit from IKE, just got power back 20 minuts ago!!
Just got power back...been living w/o light for a few days but Iv seen worse time.
The towen im staying in was right in the path of IKE we took some damage it was minior compaired to other towns.
There were 20 houses on the water front that were wiped out to the pillings and our first line of dikes was destroyed.
Im fine everyone that lives around me is good to.
but im sorry to announce that the towns of BayClife, Omaga Bay, Boyio Vista and San Leion were just about wiped off the map the houses are no more and many many people are homeless. May the gods be with them.
The marinas in Texas City(where I live), Kema, Seabrook and Shore Arcers look like pearl harbor, boats capsived, some crached in half some bobbing on the roads and highways.
This is my 5th huricane I rode out and I seen the eye of IKE just like the eye of Alicia. Iv seen a CAT4 and CAT 5 huricanes in my stay overseas.
The one was just a CAT2 with a surge of a CAT4. No one ever has seen this destrustion befor here...ever.
My State is a resilient one, it will take some time but it will pick up and rebuild AGAIN!
