Arach Tinilith

OoC: Due to being unable to tickle Vilm ICly, i thought i'd try it through this way

Syclia was getting quite annoyed by the fact everyone in the temple seemed pre-occupied.

It has been days now that those Mori'hyanda Jaluken pointed her in the direction of Vilmiathien Mori'hyanda, the Ulathtallar, if she wanted to continue her temple training.
she had hoped that she could catch the Ulathtallar near the circle of the yath for a couple of days now.

However, much to Syclia's irritation, she hadn't shown up.


"It is time..." Syclia thought. "It's right about damn time you stop waiting for everything to fall into your lap. It's time you start taking what should be rightfully yours!"
Syclia spent at least an hour infront of the mirror, if she was to confront the Ulathtallar in her own office, she'd better looked respectable.
Syclia spit-polished her fullplate, swung her shield on her back and buckled her morningstar firmly on her belt.

Syclia closed the door on her measly appartment in the slums and marched towards the temple with determined strides.


"I'm going to march in there, i will! She thought furious.
"I'll DEMAND entrance to her office, i will" she thought.
"I'll even plant my morningstar in the good-for-nothing Yathrin's face that refuses me entrance!"


"I'll even.." and before she knew it, Syclia stood infront of the imposing gates of the Arach Tinilith.


Syclia exhaled deeply, hesitated momentarily and entered the Arach Tinilith.


She walked towards the nearest Yathrin she could find.

"I deman..." but then Syclia saw the cold, dark eyes on the Yathrin.

All of the anger blubbered right out of Syclia as it was replaced by a strong fear of the Yathrin's Wrath. Syclia wanted to bring sacrifices to Lolth, not be the sacrifice herself.

"I.. uhm..." Syclia stammered a bit, but recovered
"Vendui' Malla Yathrin..."
Syclia bowed deeply.

"i respectfully request an audience with the Malla Ulath'tallar....."



and Syclia anxiously awaited the Yathrin's response

**The Yathrin's eyes seem to bore into Syclia as she bows. Seconds pass that seem like hours...

"The Ulathtallar is in comunion", she snaps harshly, "You may find her in the circle later in the cycle. Begone Jalil.".

Her snake whip hisses angrily as she turn back into the temple's inner sanctum.**

///OOC: I will be in tonight at about 7 CST, if that is to late for you I will be in during the day on Sunday on and off. Shoot me a pm if we need to discuss a meet time.

"i.. but.." But it was allready to late. The Yathrin had allready left.
It was probably a good thing the Yathrin didn't hear Syclia splutter too.

Syclia cast one long gaze through the temple, hoping to spot the Ulath'tallar, but offcourse she was not there.
"gah... bloody.."

and Syclia left the Temple, disappointed her fear of the Yathrin overtook her anger.




Later on, she arrived at the circle of the Yath, in Szith center.
She took up her, by now usual place, near the circle and opened a tome.
There she started reading the Tenants of Lolth. Over and over again.

"bah... This is useless... The city is crawling with heretics and i'm stuck here waiting for the Ulath'tallar to show up." Syclia sighed.

"This place sure has gone to the dogs..." Syclia thought as she cast her gaze over to the market area. What she wouldn't give to expose one of those Jaluken as a heretic and rip out his heart on Lolth's altar. The Queen of Spiders surely would favor her then.

It had been a long couple of hours and Syclia could dream the Tenants by now.

An hour longer and Syclia probably would've fallen asleep next to the circle.
She had gotten herself a rock to sit on, as leaning against one the circle pillars probably was some capital offense.
She had hoped Pau'Mai would've appeared again. At least then she would've had someone sensible to talk too. She would've prefered that over the hours of waiting, even if it did require constant groveling.

Syclia sighed again, staring at her book.
"One more time... at least."

Syclia had allready given up staring every minute towards the temple, so she didn't notice the Ulath'tallar and the Yathrinen walking down the temple path.

"The first tenant..." Syclia said, rather bored, to herself. She'd even stopped reading the book now, she knew them by heart. "Darkness...

The Ulathtallar took her place within the circle, while Syclia was still reciting the tenants to herself.

"Darkness has seeped into the very being of the drow." Sigh "It surrounds them, inside and out. It is a gift from........" And Syclia finally noticed the imposing woman staring at her. ".....Lolth.."


There was a moment of silence.


Then a strange sensation went through Syclia's body, as fear and awe filled her body. And her happiness was clearly showing, that her waiting had finally paid off.

"Vendui', Malla Ulath'tallar. Syclia said, as she plummeted herself in the deepest and most respectfull bow she could muster.

Syclia waited for a response first, She knew that bluntly blabbing on about what she wanted probably only resulted in the anger of the Ulath'tallar.

While Syclia had her head down, bowing, she bit her lip. Realising that the Yathrin in the temple might've informed the Ulath'tallar of the capital near-mistake she had allmost made there.

*Vilmiathien stares daggers into the jalil for what seems like an eternity. The four snakes of her whip rear up as if to strike. She look the pair to her left and the pair to her right, then back to Syclia as the snakes seem to relax and rap themselves around her waste.*

"You speak the tenants by memory jalil, bwael. Do you wish to be Yathrin, jalil? "

Syclia remains bowed a bit longer than usual, mainly to avoid those piercing eyes.
"There would be hell to pay before this woman ever agrees to let me enter the Yath" Syclia thought.


But upon hearing Vilmiathien say those glorious words, Syclia could not believe her own ears.
"Xas!" Syclia replied way to quickly.

"..Xas, Malla Ulath'allar" She said again, remembering custom. Syclia bowed again, just to be sure.

"I would wish for nothing else, but that. Malla Ulath'allar."


"Please tell me what i must do, to accomplish this. Malla Ulath'allar."

Syclia desperatly tries to hold the Ulath'tallars gaze.

"Without blinking, Malla Ulath'tallar" Syclia said, truthfully. "And with pleasure if said person is a heretic"

She did carry her morningstar on her belt of a reason.

"And i do know this, Malla Ulath'tallar. And i have done more then study these Tenants alone."

"The eight punishments of Lolth..." Syclia said in a soft gasp, while gripping her tome (wich apparantly was much like a 'Worshipping Lolth for dummies' book) more thightly.

"Bella'dos!, Malla Ulath'tallar! Bella'dos." Syclia said, while plummeting into yet another bow.

"I shall fulfill these tests of faith." Syclia said, while showing honest determination. "And more."

"While searching for you, i have allready set a few things in motion.
A plan, or call it a Heretic's Trap, wich is in accordance to all the five tenants,
and might very well complete my Chwiakrell.
Plus it might place a few Heretics on the Spider Queen's altar in the very same progress."



"However.. is it.." Syclia hesitated for a moment. She was unsure if requesting a different order of customs was a smart thing to do. As so many things weren't."Is it truly necesarry for one to perform the blooding ritual and join one of the Qu'ellar, prior to performing the tests of Faith?

I would regret it, if i could not fully focus my efforts on the growing heretic problem first, without it slowing down my progress at the temple."
